The Club

This car club now called The Ridge Runner's from Roxborough. Has roots some 38 years in the neighborhood when it was called The Contender's. The club started in 1969 with 25 member's & lasted until mid 1974. Back in the day the club had it's own club race car and they took there 1962 Chevy Biscayne Sponsored by The Rod Shop to the drag races and did very well

The Ridge Runner's

In The Spring of 2001 Two friends Driving Down Ridge Ave Flagged each other and Pulled over
to Chat It was Steve. G & Ed. P our founding member's They started hanging out at the local
Shopping Center and you know how it go's it only take's two hot rodder's hanging out and the next
thing you know there's five then ten etc, etc, etc, and so the Roxborough Ridge Runner's were born.
We are over 30 member's Strong and still growing and with are annual car show getting bigger
every year.We put money we make from our show right back in the community with over $9,825.00
in donations So far To:Local Football, Baseball, Boy Scouts, Gorgas Park, MS Fund
The Philly Cancer Walk, Police Charity, PAL, and the Hero Scholarship Fund.
We will Continue to Grow and we will continue to support the young of are community
and Organizations that Research Diseases to help them better all of our live's !

As a club we venture out to many car shows across the state and others. Here's part of the gang after winning trophy's at a show.
